NEW SHOP & ENVIRONMENT

LOUIS VUITTON GINZA NAMIKI

(Page  54)

LOUIS VUITTON GINZA NAMIKI, established in Ginza as the first
directly managed store in 1981, was remodeled. As the terrain of
Ginza was originally a reef, “water column” was chosen as the
theme of the environmental design and it was embodied as the
surfaces of the exterior of the building, which gives off pale blue
and orange light. The simple facades, composed of layers of two
tempered glass and film, expressively undulate and conceal
support materials underneath. Images of water can be traced in
the interior like curve lines in sales area and water-surface-like
ceiling of LE CAFÉ V , which make parts of world of water.
